Arunachal Chopper Crash: 3 bodies found by trained mountaineers of a Gorkha Unit

Guwahati : Army personnel have recovered the bodies of the three passengers of a crashed Pawan Hans helicopter including Deputy Commissioner of Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, Dr Kamlesh Joshi and the two pilots on Wednesday from the thick mountainous jungles, according to a Defence spokesman here. The bodies were being brought to Khonsa, the headquarter of Tirap district. Army personnel using special mountaineering equipment have reached the deep gorge where the Pawan Hans helicopter with Deputy Commissioner of Tirap Dr Kamlesh Joshi (IAS) crashed after taking off from Khonsa in Arunachal Pradesh on August 4 last. The recovery of the bodies by trained mountaineers of a Gorkha Unit and special forces with support from Assam Rifles and civilians have commenced. The task was likely to be completed by late evening of Wednesday. Earlier on August 10, helicopters of Eastern Air Command after repeated attempts braving inclement weather had succeeded in identifying the site of the helicopter crash and spotting the wreckage.
