SKM, BJP condole Prince Jigdal Cheang Namgyal’s Demise

Gangtok : The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha and the state unit of the BJP have expressed their condolences to the family of late Prince Jigdal Chewang Namgyal. In a press statement issued by SKM press secretary Dilip Rai, the party has expressed its heartfelt condolence and prayers for the departed soul and the bereaved family. The statement said Prince Chewang Namgyal, the youngest son of Sikkim’s 11th king Tashi Namgyal, was an able administrator and an equally good person. The party also lauded his contributions to the state as its first development commissioner. State BJP president Palden Wangchuk Khangsherpa, through a press release, has offered his condolences to the family of the late prince. Khangsherpa said the state has lost a hardworking administrator and an honest human being. Prince Namgyal breathed his last on October 30 at his residence in Development Area, Gangtok. The 86-year-old prince is survived by his wife Lachom Kuso Soyangla, daughter Gawa Yangtshenla, son Jigmee Namgyal and five grandchildren.
