- Nanda Kumar Kirati
I represented All Assam Gorkha Students Union (AAGSU) at the at the Gorkha Civil Society Organization meeting with All Assam Students' Union (AASU) at Guwahati Planetarium Conference Hall held on 16th Nov 2014 Sunday.  I began my speech recalling the Assam Agitation and presence of Gorkhas since the Sugauly Treaty and AASU-AAGSU's decade long joint agitation in the interest of the composite Assam society. I said.' Gorkha Civil Society Organizations to be part of AASU and 26 community students and youth organizations AAGSU included in the process of up-gradation and immediate implementation and will fully support and monitor the work by being a part of special joint NRC cell which will act as task force to ensure no genuine Indian citizen is kept out of the NRC and Bangladeshi and Foreign immigrants are barred from applying for NRC.

Speaking briefly on issues regarding need of NRC I also suggested that NESO, AASU and AAGSU should jointly agitate for scrapping few clauses of the Indo-Nepal Friendship Treaty of 1950 which the All Assam Gorkha Students' Union have been demanding since its inception. In the meeting we raised an impopratnt issue that Gorkhas by nature nomadic might not have all sufficient document/ lost/ torn or siezed illegally by unautjhorized official before in the name hearing etc. As such such we will have consider their NRC application based of public mandate of the region. NRC nodal officers will be briefed about such cases by joint NRC Cell of which AAGSU will be part, I suggested.
