36TH SSB celebrated international Daughter’s Day in Gangtok

Gangtok : 36th Bn Sashastra Seema Bal Gangtok Celebrated International Daughter’s day at Sandiksha Hall to pass a strong message to the society against biased approach towards male child and girl child. This programme was organized under the aegis of Sandiksha which has been constituted for welfare of SSB families. This celebration included painting, poetry and essay writing competition for children and females were organized. The theme of the above mentioned programmes was “ladkiyon ko praya dhan manna ek abhishap”. Children expressed their views on the theme and showed their talent and at the end of the programme prizes were also given. In the essay writing competition Monika Sharma, Dipali Sachin Kohli, Aloka Rai and Prinyanka were declared as first, second, third & fourth. 

 Dr. Doma Lachenpa Asstt. Commandant Med 36th Bn said the Daughter’s Day is commemorated in every part of the world on 4th September. This Unit observed Daughter’s Day to convey a strong message to society to lessen the discrimination between male and female child which is being noticed predominantly in today’s world. Romi Singh addressing the gathering also gave her views on this issue and requested all the ladies not to be bias against girl child and to give equal opportunities to both of boys and girls. She said girls are doing very well in all the walks of life and hence there is no place of child bias in our society. She also appealed all the families to provide their daughters quality education. Asha Singh, Vice President Sandiksha 36th Bn. concluding the programme thanked all the SSB families for participating in the Daughter’s day. She also said people should give up the narrow mindedness and appealed all to be optimist and treat boys and girls equally in all the matters. In the programme Sumitra Thongan and 35 other families’ members and 10 children of other SSB employees participated.
