Sikkim BJP unit to take in membership applications

GANGTOK :  The Sikkim unit of the BJP today held a review meeting here at the capital and took some decisions aiming for the welfare of the Sikkimese people. At the outset, applications are welcome from anyone who wishes to become a party member as this would help the BJP expand its organisational base in the state, said state BJP in-charge Dr Dineshanand Goswami. He said those interested can drop in their applications till June 15 at the party office along with a membership fee of Rs5. A mass joining function will be conducted by the end of this month, added Goswami, expressing gratitude to all those in the state who have supported the BJP.

The party in-charge informed committees will be formed in all the four districts of the state, noting “the main priority of the BJP is to build a corruption-free and developed state”. He further said, “The BJP will monitor infrastructural development works in the state as well as healthcare and education and also focus on issues related to poverty and unemployment in the entire northeast region.” Goswami urged the citizens of the state to work fearlessly and warned the ruling SDF front against violating the fundamental rights of the people. Sikkim BJP state president Palden Khangserpa and several party supporters were present at the meeting.
