Strongly condemning the bestial act of outraging modesty of a minor girl, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union president Pradeep Rizal said that Nepalis or Gorkhas have not committed any anti-social or illegal act in Manipur till date. "We are a community who want to live in peace", he said. However, the rape of a minor cannot be taken lightly. The Government should book the culprit at the earliest or the relevant village authority should hand him over to the Government. In protest against the rape, Nepali community blocked Imphal-Dimapur highway at different places since this evening. Police had to resort to firing tear gas shells and blank firing to disperse the blockaders. Meanwhile, Heingang Police have started investigation into the alleged rape case after registering a case.
